Electro-Graphics' custom silicone rubber keypads are specially designed electronic push button switches which are produced per customer specifications. When pushing the silicone rubber pad, the conductive pills make the connection between the two contact areas and the circuit. The silicone rubber keypad is produced from a non-conductive material and the contact is made from conductive carbon. There are many design possibilities, ranging from transparent to multiple colors. Custom rubber keypads can be produced utilizing a hard plastic keycap as an actuator or a keycap designed as an integral part of the silicone rubber keypad itself. In applications where the keycap is part of the pad, a higher durometer rubber or a polyurethane coating is used to give the appearance and feel of plastic. Special ink formulations used in printing our silicone rubber keypads provide very long term image durability. |
